Since before our inception, dating back to the early 1980s, Strategic’s founders were investing in alternative assets. We were, and continue today, to be advocates of including alternatives in portfolios and believe they bring benefits in both diversification and robust alpha opportunities. We believe our ability to construct, analyze and manage total portfolios, along with sophisticated proprietary risk analytics, strengthens our advantage.

Consistent with our objective of improving portfolio efficiency and improving risk-adjusted returns, we believe that in highly efficient sectors of the global marketplace the ability to generate alpha is diminishing. Consequently, since 1993 Strategic has been constructing portable alpha strategies.
