PRIVATE EQUITY CAPABILITIES

The term “private equity” has come to embrace a range of strategies, from pure venture capital to various forms of corporate finance. Private equity funds are almost always organized as limited partnerships or limited liability companies and generally have a term of seven to ten years, extendable by several additional years to facilitate the liquidation of all portfolio holdings. The objective of private equity is to generate a risk-adjusted real rate of return superior to that offered by the public markets.

Building on our substantial experience, we at Strategic Investment Group construct private equity portfolios that may serve as a core allocation or as diversifiers to conventional programs due, in part, to historically low correlation with marketable assets. We seek high alpha traditional and nontraditional opportunities and strategies. We work with clients on a separate account basis and as a managing member in our private equity fund of funds.
